4mm trowel	suitable for installing mosaics
6mm trowel	fixing regular size wall tiles on to internal walls in dry areas
8mm trowel	Large size tiles on to internal walls in dry areas, or for fixing floor tiles on to smooth surfaces in dry areas
10mm trowel	most floor tiles and large format wall tiles on to smooth surfaces, where extra depth is required
12mm trowel	thick bed of adhesive, recommend for fixing large floor tiles on to tamped surfaces or uneven concrete
