The Story

Cement-based powder adhesive — requires mixing before use. Mix with water on site. For the same S1 flexibility with rapid set properties and grout in 4 hours, see UltraTileFix ProFlex SP.
Grey or white? Use the white version when fixing light-coloured natural stone, pale tiles, glass mosaics, or translucent tiles where grey adhesive may show through grout joints. Both variants have identical technical performance — the white version is slightly higher priced.

A single-part, standard-setting, S1-classified flexible tile adhesive for walls and floors. Polymer-modified for enhanced adhesion, bond strength, and flexibility — suitable for areas where slight movement or vibration can occur. The extended 2-hour pot life makes it the preferred choice for large-format installations, complex layouts, or contractors who prefer to mix once and work at a comfortable pace. Bed thickness of 3–20mm makes it suitable for uneven substrates without a separate levelling compound.

Preparation & mixing
1
Prepare the substrate — it must be clean, dry, firm, and stable, free from dust, dirt, oil, and grease. Vacuum thoroughly after any sanding or mechanical abrasion — do not simply wipe with a wet sponge as this spreads dust rather than removing it.
2
Prime the substrate with UltraTile ProPrimer before tiling. Porous substrates (plaster, plasterboard, screed, render): two coats — first coat diluted 1:3 with water, second coat 1:1. Allow 1 hour between coats. Non-porous substrates (tile on tile, DPMs, foil-faced boards): single neat coat.
3
For underfloor heating — commission and test the system fully before tiling. Set to a maximum of 15°C during tiling. Do not exceed this as it can force-dry the adhesive and cause de-bonding.
Maintain 15°C for 7 days after installation. Then increase at 5°C per day to reach operating temperature.
4
Mix — add the powder slowly to 5.2–5.5 litres of clean water for a 20kg bag. Mix with a drill and paddle until smooth and slump-free. The mix is ready immediately and has a pot life of 2 hours at 20°C.
Do not remix or rewet material that has started to thicken or set.
Fixing & finishing
5
Apply adhesive in sections of 1m² at a time using a notched trowel. Bed thickness 3–20mm. Use the correct notch size:
Mosaics: 3×3mm at 6mm centres. Wall tiles: 5×5mm at 10mm centres. Floor tiles: 8×8mm at 16mm centres.
6
For floors and exterior applications use the solid bed method — apply adhesive to the floor and also butter the back of each tile. Press with a firm twisting action to achieve 100% contact.
7
Leave tile spacers and appropriate joint widths — 1–3mm for walls, 2–12mm for floors. Build in movement joints at all perimeters, internal corners, and at regular intervals across large areas.
8
Clean surplus adhesive from tile faces and grout lines with a clean damp cloth or sponge before it sets.
9
Allow a minimum of 18 hours before grouting or walking on the tiles. This may be extended on impervious or non-porous substrates. Always check the adhesive has set hard before grouting.
Use UltraTile ProGrout Smooth or ProGrout Flexible, available in a range of colours.
